Penny Varney Jewellery Gallery and Gifts is located in the heart of Gravenhurst at the entranceway to Muskoka. The gallery is made up of artists from all over Muskoka, including Hilary Clark Cole, who specializes in steel sculptures; Robert Dykstra who is known for his pointillism; Tony Varney whose signature style is in the form of Tibetan photography; Linda Hrynyk, creator of oriental-style pottery; and David Dawson, who has won many awards for the use of colour in his Muskoka paintings. The gift section is comprised of a multitude of interesting items—Matt and Natt bags, Myco Anna fashions, even Muskoka Candles made by Billy Harris, an ex-NHL player who has settled in Rosseau. The shop is owned by Penny who is herself a goldsmith. She does commission work and repairs and shows a cross section of many types of jewellery in sterling silver, gold, and other metals. Penny has a deck on the top of her store where one can go and have their lunch. You can buy or bring your own and sit up on her roof under the umbrellas while you read the newspaper or your favourite book.

Little Bit Wired
Art Dolls, Puppets & Accessories by Nancy Perennec, Canadian Doll Artist

This is my version of Cernunnos, Lord of the Forest based on evidence found in historical records. Cernunnos is the mysterious horned deity worshiped by Iron age Celts across Europe until the end of the first century. Very little is known about Cernunnos except his name and his image, which appears on numerous stone carvings and other artifacts throughout Europe.

My Lord of the Forest wears furs and feathers to show his affinity with the animals in his domain. His head, hands, feet and upper torso are hand-sculpted over a wire armature.(no molds were used) He was then wrapped with polyfil and a skin sewn on. He was carefully costumed with leather, fur, fabric and feathers. He carries a short sword in his belt, a knife on his lower leg, and a horn. All are hand-sculpted from polymer. His features have been painted with acrylics, his eyes and nails have been given a coat of glaze to bring him to life. He is signed.

Inspired by a book I read, but now can't remember the name or the author. She has just awakened into her powers of change. Her fae family has been disappointed in her, at her age and still not able to change. One day after meeting what she thinks is her true love, her life mate... she was able to turn to smoke. A day later, she could breathe fire. Now she can "turn".

Her height is 7.5 inches tall with a wingspan of 9". Her wings are fixed in position. Made with paperclay and apoxie sculpt over a wire armature. Embellished with acrylics, microbeads, mulberry paper and shell beads for scales. Although the piece is varnished it is not recommended for outdoor use.
